Test Information
Alpha Fetoprotein (AFP) assay is offered as a tumor marker only. It is not to be used for maternal serum.
Human anti-murine antibodies (HAMA) may develop in patients receiving anti-murine chemotherapy or tumor-imaging agents that will interfere with this test. CSF should not be tested by this method - send to Mayo Medical Laboratories. Specimen should be frozen.
