Wet prep (WET) analysis is no longer performed on the Marshfield campus. If needed, please collect a vaginal specimen in the UVE collection kit and order Vaginitis Panel, NAT (VAGNAT).
Swabs should be washed and expressed in a small amount of sterile saline using a wet prep tube (available from Central Supply). Organism degradation begins after approximately 30 minutes of collection. Specimens may not be stored. Transport specimens immediately to the laboratory.
