Useful For
​Used to screen for allergic skin reaction to Carbamazepine (Carbatrol) in certain ethnic groups. This allele occurs almost exclusively in patients with ancestry across broad areas of Asia, including South Asian Indians. Contact at UW is Dave Lorentzen (608-263-8808).

Transport whole blood specimen at room temperature or refrigerated for weekday delivery only to UWHC Core Laboratory (B4/220)
