Total Amylase, pancreatic (p-) amylase, a qualitative screening test for macroamylase​
Useful For
Hyperamylasemia can occur in salivary gland disorders, peritonitis, ruptured ectopic pregnancy, renal failure, acute appendicitis, burns diabetic acidosis, drug addiction and macroamylasemia.  When hyperamylesemia occurs for no apparent reason or other tests do not confirm pancreatitis, macroamylasemia should be considered.  ​
