B. dermatitidis is reported as Positive or Negative.

Detectable antibody levels may not be present in patients with early, primary infections (first 3-6 weeks) or in immunosuppressed patients.  Antibodies to H. capsulatum or C. immitis can cross-react to cause false positive reactions in this test.  Results should thus be considered in their entirety together with other diagnostic and clinical information.
