Collection Processing Instructions

Draw 2 serum samples (SST) for baseline LH levels. The first is drawn 15 minutes before LH-RH injection and the second should be drawn just prior to the injection. Label samples appropriately (-15 min. and 0 min.). Combine 1 mL of each of these two samples for one baseline specimen. Then obtain serum specimens for LH at 30 minutes and 60 minutes post LH-RH injection. Label each post injection sample (30 min. and 60 min.) and process each separately -- do not combine.

Notify Chemistry (ext. 16359) prior to the start of the test. Immunoassay personnel will pool the baseline samples. Contact Endocrinology Department for test protocol. This test measures pituitary reserves.
