Respiratory Syncytial Virus Rapid Antigen (RS-AG) testing is no longer performed on the Marshfield or DTC campuses. If needed, order Respiratory Syncytial Virus Nucleic Acid Test (RSVNAT) or Influenza A and B and Respiratory Syncytial Virus Nucleic Acid Test PCR (ABRNAT) as alternative tests.

Test Information
​The Rapid EIA RSV antigen test has a low predictive value when RSV prevalence in the community is low. This test uses a rapid antigen detection method that is not as sensitive as the RSV nucleic acid test (NAT) also offered (see ABRNAT). It is however a more rapid and readily available test.
