The Beta 2 Glycoprotein 1 antibody screen is useful to identify elevated levels of antibodies to phospholipid-protein complexes. Elevated levels of these antibodies are a diagnostic feature of the anti-phospholipid syndrome. The anti-phospholipid syndrome is an autoimmune disorder with significant obstetrical and vascular complications.
NOTE - This test is used to screen for IgG, IgA or IgM antibodies to Beta 2 Glycoprotein 1. If the B2GSCRN is positive, a Beta-2-Glycoprotein 1 IgA (B2IGA), Beta-2-Glycoprotein 1 IgG (B2IGG) and a Beta-2-Glycoprotein 1 IgM (B2IGM) will be performed. For specific testing only, contact Clinic Esoteric Automated section at 715-221-6290.
