Useful For
Risk assessment of patients with chronic liver disease for development of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). An aid in the monitoring of HCC patients post therapy if des-gamma-carboxy prothrombin (DCP) level was elevated prior to therapy. An elevated DCP level is associated with increased risk of recurring HCC.
